Turkish Rugby League association was founded in 2016 for the development, support and growth of Rugby League in Turkey. Turkish Rugby League organization has the support of both Rugby League European Federation (RLEF) & Rugby League International Federation (RLIF).
Turkish Rugby League has been granted the “Observer” status as a result of its excellent performance by the Rugby League European Federation (RLEF).
Turkish Rugby League association has organized courses together with RLEF, and as of July 2016 were able to train over 15 coaches & 10 referees.
In July 2016 Turkish Rugby League association organized its first ever Beach Rugby League Tournament in Kalamis Istanbul, 19 teams participated 43 matches played within 2 days.
The event was a huge success with the media and communities showing vast amount of interest.
In 2017 Turkish Rugby League association participated in its first international tournament in Rhodes, 9s Rugby League Tournament with 25 players.
Turkish Rugby League Team finished runners up which has been a huge success considering the Turkish nations recent adoption of the game.
